By the s, the Moon Pie brand was expanding enough to offer additional sizes like the Double Decker Deluxe and flavors like Vanilla and Banana. Today, Moon Pies come in several different sizes and flavors.

Among them are salted caramel, strawberry, lemon and orange, which is only available during Mardi Gras. Mini Moon Pies come in those same flavors, as well as coconut. The festival is held on the third Saturday in June and is a family-friendly event that started in as a way to bring more visitors to Bell Buckle by celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Moon Pie.

Downtown Bell Buckle brings people together at the RC-Moon Pie Festival with Moon Pie games, music and entertainment, cloggers, contests and more, for a jam-packed day of fun. The day begins with the RC-Moon Pie mile run, which kicks off the festivities. A parade takes place, where the king and queen of the festival are crowned.
